Cuddle My Kids Fundraiser (Amy Ostafy   Jan 14)

The Cuddle My Kids fundraiser for 2019 allows you to purchase a tank, visor, towel or donate to the different CMK activities.  The purchase proceeds will benefit the many CMK support services offered FREE for families affected by cancer.   CMK has been serving the Philadelphia suburban area since 2007.

The tank top is only available in charcoal grey, the visor and rally towel will be available in different colors.  All items will have the “#cancertakeswegive” logo.  A photo of each item is available on the registration page.   The deadline to make a purchase is February 1st, 2019.  Your purchases will be delivered to your club before the March 1st match and you will be notified when your order is delivered.

If you do not wish to purchase a tank top, visor or towel there are other donation options can be found at the end for the registration and ordering form.   Donation options range from $10 to $100 to cover events such as adult coloring books for the chemo comfort kits, journaling workshops, chemo comfort kits, educational support for family and family attendance at Cuddle Cares sessions.

You can wear your tank or visor or show off your towel at our matches on March 1st.  Teams can sign a poster at the club to honor the person you would like to acknowledge.   This is a day to support ALL those affected by cancer and let those individuals know that DELTRI tennis is supporting them too.

2nd Half Start Up - Friday, Jan 4, 2019 (Amy Ostafy   Jan 3)

Deltri is kicking off the second half of 2018-2019 season on Friday, January 4, 2019.  Please be sure to review the Hazardous Weather Policy below in case there is inclement weather coming through the area on Friday match days.
Rule Ammendment Approved on 12/14/17 at the Board Meeting noted in bold text:
Rostered Player Replacements: A rostered player must play 8 of 18 matches in order for the team to be eligible to win the division and move up. In the event a team changes rostered players in January the new rostered player plus the old rostered player on that court position must have played a combined number of 8 of 18 matches. If the 1st place team in a division is not eligible to move up, the 2nd place team is the official winner, if they qualify.  If the 1st and 2nd place teams are not eligible, there will be no division winner to move up.  This is to encourage commitment and limit a “phantom” player which allows for any number of subs to play and determine the outcome of a division. The new line-up must reflect any change in the order of strength due to the substitution.
National Wear Red Day is, Friday, February 1st, we want to encourage all players to wear red to bring attention to heart disease in women.
Look for info coming soon to support our annual fundraiser for Cuddle My Kids to provide in-home, no-cost support for cancer patients and their families.
Good luck to everyone!
The Executive Board,
Jan, Janet, Amy, and Sudha

Deltri Hazardous Weather Policy (Amy Ostafy   Jan 1)

>>>Deltri Hazardous Weather Policy

In the event of hazardous driving conditions and/or unexpected school closings due to inclement weather, captains must contact the league Division Recorder on the morning of the match. The captains must notify clubs and involved players as soon as possible. ALL POSTPONED MATCHES MUST BE PLAYED as described above for discontinued play. Any team member making it difficult to reschedule the match runs the risk of being excluded from the league the following year. The Executive Committee and club manager(s) or tennis professionals involved and the Grievance Committee will be involved in such a decision. In any case where a match has not started, it is appropriate to utilize a substitute of similar level if necessary to get a match rescheduled in a timely manner.  Any individual team or player who deems the roads too dangerous to travel, due to snow in her area, may arrange to play her match at another time, preferably within two weeks, but no later than midseason or week 18 if the cancellation occurs in the second half of the season at a time that is mutually agreeable to all the players involved. She must notify her captain and follow the procedure for closings, as above. Exceptions to this rule, may on occasion, be approved by the Executive Committee.
